Purchase Specialist
Full Time Position (40 Hours per Week)

Work Hours

Monday to Friday, 40-hour work week. This is an office job. No remote work available.

Golden Fortune is a family-owned import and wholesale grocery business and the gateway that connects food brands in Asia to supermarkets and consumers in the United States. We are seeking a purchase specialist to join our procurement team to manage the supply chain from our key suppliers in Asia to our warehouse in New Jersey.

How do you know if you’re the right candidate for the job? If you want to be responsible for the flow of goods from the factory to the warehouse, then this is the right job for you. You are happy to work with people speaking diverse languages. Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Spanish, and English are spoken in our workplace. You thrive on solving problems and working out solutions with a team. You are passionate about food and you are happy to share that passion with others.

Required Credentials:

  • Four-year college degree in mathematics, business, or supply chain management-related field
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency (Excel functions, formulas, PivotTable, charting and recording macros for repetitive tasks)
  • Mandarin fluency (speaking, reading, and writing) <--- candidates who are not fluent in Mandarin will not be considered because this skill is critical to the role

Bonus Points:

  • Cantonese fluency
  • Other Chinese dialects fluency
  • Experience with ERP or strong technology background
  • Industry experience in the food import and wholesale business
  • Passion for cooking and eating food
  • Already familiar with our brands (from buying them or trying them before)

Responsibilities

  • Place orders with suppliers in Asia and maintain the flow of products coming to our warehouse
  • Analyze data to determine how much, when, what to order
  • Work as the strategist to identify trends and come up with sales and order forecasts
  • Aggregate huge amounts of data and information from different sources to discover patterns
  • Provide feedback to management and the team on the status of the market
  • Design and implement solutions using historical and forecast data to optimize ordering
  • Identify new opportunities to improve our supply chain management
  • Help out with special projects as delegated by management
